What is Inactivated influenza vaccine?

The inactivated influenza vaccine is reformulated each year against the strains expected to circulate. The private service covers people outside NHS eligibility: younger adults, workplaces, and anyone who simply wants winter cover.

The condition it treats

Influenza is a serious respiratory infection that fills wards every winter and costs even healthy adults a week or more. Annual vaccination is the single effective preventive step, and pharmacy delivery is where most private flu protection happens.

How the service runs on Scripter

Patients book online, complete the pre-consultation questionnaire, and the guided pathway walks the practitioner through the seasonal influenza consultation with the screening and counselling steps built in. The supply decision, the record and any GP notification are produced in the same flow, documented against the exact protocol version in force.

Training and eligibility requirements.

Who can deliver this service, and who it can be delivered to. The governing PGD document defines the definitive inclusion, exclusion and supply criteria; the Scripter consultation pathway enforces them, and every consultation is documented against the protocol version it ran under.

Inactivated influenza vaccine PGD questions

When in the season is best?+

From the autumn campaign start, ideally before circulation peaks; late-season vaccination still protects and the pathway never treats December as too late.

Can the flu jab cause flu?+

No; the vaccine is inactivated. A sore arm and a day of feeling flat reflect an immune system doing its job, and the counselling step says so plainly.

Does Scripter support workplace flu clinics?+

Yes; bookings, consent, records and reporting handle multi-patient sessions cleanly, which is exactly what corporate clinics need.
